One unexpected perk with planting the mint along the street is that it forms an eco-friendly snow fence. I shovel the sidewalk onto the mint and the city plows the street. The resulting "wall" helps keep all that nasty salt out of the yard and help drivers identify where the road is. Pretty cool, huh?
