Went to plug in the fluorescent light in the laundry room and all I got was a slow hiss followed by a large plume of white smoke. It stank too. So I unplugged the light and worked on the laundry with just the single incandescent bulb to illuminate my work. Guess I'll have to get another cheap shop light from Wally World.
Careful with those fluorescent lights... they're full of mercury vapor.
