Big Boxes

This time next year there just might be a new shopping destination in town. It appears that Lowe's has been approved for the new upscale subdivision. Read the article here.
For years the tension in our county has been farming vs development, what is the best use of our land? I'm still not sure where I fall on all the issues but having a Lowe's nearby would certainly cut down on the delivery charges.

  1. A Home Depot or Lowe's has been in the planning stages for over three years here. Both were interested in different plots, and the smaller businesses in town were fighting it, all the way to the top (courts, etc). Home Depot got approved first and Lowe's pulled out (dang't! I love Lowe's so much more). It's going to change our life not having to drive 20 minutes to the nearest Home Depot.

  2. You know, I really hate the idea of land being developed and eaten up by commercialization, but I so love having a Lowes (and a Home Depot) nearby. It is like our second home, lol. I don't know what we'd do if we had to travel half an hour to get to one.
