With temps relatively warm and the sun shining, I was able to rake all the leaves into the street this evening. The city drives around with a large vacuum truck and picks up the leaves, we're responsible to get them to the street.
The idea is that they follow the same route and days as the trash pickup but it obviously takes much longer. So I was pleasantly surprised when not even five minutes after finishing the front yard the vacuum truck rolled past. Since that's the state highway and the main storm drain it's best to keep the leaves from piling up in the gutter. Hopefully they'll make it back to the side street before the rains come tomorrow.
