Basic Building Blocks

Took the kids to the library today and found a pleasant surprise: a large Lego replica of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the running of the Indy 500. The whole thing sat on a 4x8 sheet of plywood and with a near capacity crowd, there were over 3,000 Lego people in attendance. It was built from the creative mind of Brian Darrow, a local chiropractor.
Josiah loves his Legos and will spend hours by himself creating cars and things. I'm thinking about designing a storage device to keep them all in - something that would fit under his bed, provide a "playscape" surface, and keep them in a thinner layer so there isn't as much digging for pieces. Sounds like some good principles for my wood pile in the workshop too. Guess I'll have to work on that one.
